Waney Edge Handmade Oak Floating Shelf
4Our solid waney/live edge oak floating shelves are handmade in the UK from kiln dried French oak and designed for kitchens, living rooms, alcoves, and bathrooms.
Each shelf is crafted in Lewes, East Sussex using carefully selected rustic farmhouse solid oak, with the natural live waney edge left intact to highlight the wood’s organic shape and character.
At JR Woodcraft, we believe real wood should be celebrated. Every shelf is finished by hand with Danish oil to enhance the unique grain, depth, and rich natural texture. No two shelves are ever the same.
Measurements
Approximate finished thickness is 43 to 45mm.

Due to the natural live edge, the front profile will vary slightly from shelf to shelf.
Custom Sizes
If you require your shelf thinner or narrower in depth, custom sizing is available. Please contact us before ordering and we will be happy to advise.
Construction
For shelves with a 30cm depth, two solid oak boards are joined using biscuit joinery and high strength wood adhesive. This traditional cabinet making method provides excellent strength and long term stability while allowing the timber to move naturally over time.

These solid oak floating shelves work beautifully in kitchens, living rooms, alcoves, and bathrooms. Many customers choose them to match solid oak kitchen worktops for a cohesive and premium finish.
Installation
Shelves are predrilled for installation.
Floating shelf brackets are supplied free of charge with your shelf.
Shelves must be installed on suitable wall types such as brick, stone, or wall studs. Plasterboard alone is not suitable. Returns will not be accepted where shelves are unsuitable for the intended wall type.

Free delivery to Mainland UK.
Additional charges may apply for Ireland and other remote UK locations.
Shelves measuring 200cm and longer are shipped in a reinforced protective box rather than standard packaging. This additional protection minimises movement during transit and helps ensure your shelf arrives straight, secure, and in perfect condition.
