Using solid 3-5 year old air dried European oak and you can choose if you want it finished with a Danish oil to bring out the character with in the grain or just without any finish.

Oiled finish: As our blocks are oiled only a few days before dispatch, there may still be a natural oil smell when your block arrives. This is completely normal and will gradually fade in a well-ventilated space

Each block is finished with a rustic feel but to a smooth touch - !It may include a bit of cracking as this is natural of the kiln dried oak!

These blocks will look great in a multitude of surroundings, from country house to contemporary living.

Due to the nature of oak the weight of each is more than suitable to carry heavy décor as well.

These are ideal as gifts for 5th wedding anniversary's (the year of wood) or for house warming presents.

As Oak is a natural material the colouring and grain can vary from one to another, giving it a truly unique feel. splitting, cracking and knots may vary from piece to piece but again and to its look.

⚠️ Important Information About Natural Oak

Oak is a natural material that can continue to move and change over time.

Our blocks are made from oak that has been naturally air-dried for 3–5 years, not kiln-dried. Despite this long drying process, the timber may still react to a new environment, particularly during the first few weeks after delivery.

You may notice:

  • slight movement in the timber,
  • new cracks developing or existing cracks becoming larger,
  • marks appearing on floors or carpets – we recommend checking regularly at first,
  • in rare cases, surface mould may develop, particularly if the block is kept in a damp or poorly ventilated environment.

What do we recommend?

Allow the oak to “breathe” and check it regularly during the first few weeks. While it adjusts to its new environment, avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, high humidity or extremely dry conditions.
